Let’s see what each one has to offer.

Colibri Real Estate

Colibri Real Estate review featured image

Real Estat Express is one of the best-known brands in the industry — and it’s not surprising, considering it started providing online education in 1996.

Colibri Real Estate put together 4 options for pre-licensing. Each one is more extensive than the last.

Package Inclusions Buy This If You…
The Basic 40-hour pre-licensing course … are a self-starter, disciplined, or have real estate experience
Exam Preparation Contents of The Basic + Exam Prep … are looking for exam simulations
Exam Preparation Plus Contents of Exam Preparation + Q&A Webinars with Instructors … want to prefer live interaction with your instructors
Ultimate Learning Contents of Exam Preparation Plus + Professional Development Membership … want to have all available resources to help you establish your real estate career

The first 2 packages allow you to go through the material faster (hence the ‘express’ in its name) because most of the content is text.

If you don’t mind this mode of delivery, then it should work for you.

However, if you want a bit of variety, you may want to consider the option that gives you a chance to engage with your instructors during a webinar.

Colibri Real Estate gives you the option to choose YOUR study preference.

Metropolitan Real Estate School

Almost all the schools on this list are nationwide online operating companies, but how about some local touch for a change?

It’s only logical to go local: they know the most about their state, the ins and outs, all the requirements and have the right expertise in place to teach students. Well, that’s exactly what the Metropolitan Real Estate School Boston Massachusetts provides.

Catered specifically for students in Massachusetts, the Metropolitan offers some great features. One of Metropolitan’s best selling points is undoubtedly the exceptional teaching that it provides.

Micheal Albano, the instructor and founder of the pre-licensing course, is regarded as among one of the most accomplished real estate agents in the state. In the 40-hour course he teaches, he pulls from a range of real estate anecdotes, experiences, observations and knowledge learned throughout his career. This coupled with the PowerPoint Presentation-driven style and practical tips on exam preparations as awell as study techniques has been thoroughly praised by real estate students and professionals alike. Not only does it boost retention, but it also increases interest and motivation in the classes, making the whole experience much more memorable and enjoyable.

Another notable feature of the Metropolitan which is unique only to this school is the fast track course. While standard 40 hour courses spread across the calendar are widely available, they aren’t for everybody. That’s why they  introduced the highly acclaimed, fast track accelerated, 40 hour pre-licensing course.

This course is offered at the start of every month at the fixed price of $350. 9 classes, 9 hours each ( 9am – 6pm), aim to cover the entire pre-licensing essentials in a condensed yet effective manner.  The course is very popular among students, working individuals and even elderly folk because it can provide you with in-depth knowledge of everything you need to know about real estate and licensing in just over a week.

With the bright minds of Metropolitan Real Estate School as your teachers, you can rest easy because it’s only a matter of time before you ace your exam and get that license!

Frequently Asked Questions About Real Estate Education in Boston

How much time will I have to devote to studying if I go into real estate in Boston?

There’s no getting around having to study when you’re a real estate professional. To get your license, you’ll have to go through a 40-hour pre-licensing course.

Even after you’re licensed, you’ll still need to go through 12-hours of Continuing Education courses. It’s a requirement if you want to get your real estate license renewed.

That said, it doesn’t mean you have to go through 12 or 40 hours in one go. You can break it up into short study sessions to avoid information overload and prevent burnout.

If you decide to take the courses online, your study sessions can be as long or as short as you prefer.

I want to get into real estate, but I already have a full-time job. What can I do to get my requirements in order?

Don’t worry — you’re not the only one. We’re well aware that most people have set schedules, and real estate classes can add to an already full plate.

Most real estate schools offer in-person classes at different times during the day. So if you have  9 to 5, you can attend night schedules.

An even more convenient way of doing it is by completing the coursework online. This way, you can work around whatever schedule you have. It provides additional flexibility because you can take it anywhere — in the office, on the road, at home…

I’m not a big reader — will online real estate school work for me?

Not all online courses are text-based, so it can still work for you.

Knowing your learning preferences is good because it’ll allow you to narrow down your options even further. Check if a package that offers live streamlining access is within your budget (these tend to be more expensive than the entirely self-paced courses).

Some schools use a platform that uses multiple media to deliver their content. You’ll still have to read, but various activities can help break the monotony.

Final Words

Deciding where to get your real estate education is no small feat. When you’re in the process of getting your license for the first time, choosing the right provider can impact your career significantly.

From a personal perspective, you’ll have to consider your preferences and circumstance. From another point of view,  you’ll have to factor in what different schools have to offer.

All real estate schools on our list — whether online or in-person — are solid choices. In the end, the best person to determine which school works best for you is YOU.

Good luck!
