What are the requirements to become a real estate trainee appraiser in Georgia?

To qualify as a trainee or apprentice appraiser in Georgia, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED).
  • Complete a 90-hour qualifying education approved by the Appraisals Board. It must include the 15-hour Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). State trainee applicants must also complete an AQB-approved supervisor-trainee course.
  • Pass the proctored exams. Note that these are final course exams and do not include the supervisory-trainee course. There is no state exam for trainee applicants.   
  • Complete the criminal background check requirement.
  • Submit your application to the Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board (GREAB).

How much does it cost to become a real estate trainee appraiser in Georgia?

How does a trainee appraiser qualify to become state-licensed in Georgia?
