The training required to obtain your Texas real estate license is going to be long and yes, very boring. Nobody ever told me getting my real estate license would be easy and I certainly wouldn’t say that to you. It’s going to be tough. If you’ve decided to get your Texas real estate license online, it’s so incredibly important to sign up for the best online Texas real estate license training course you can find. Most online real estate courses in Texas are about the same price and appear to be very similar, but there are some fairly drastic differences between them.

Want The Fast Answer?

This Is The Best Online Real Estate License Course In Texas

My Friendly Warning To You – Unfortunately, the vast majority of online real estate courses in Michigan are vastly outdated. Heck, some of them don’t even work on mobile devices, so if you want to study from your smartphone or tablet, you’d be out of luck. The list of the best online real estate schools in Texas that I provided below is based on student pass rates as published by TREC. The best way to tell if a real estate school is high quality is to find out how many students pass their Texas real estate license exam on the first try. While other factors are also taken into account, that is the basis of the reviews you’ll see below.

The Top 7 BEST Online Texas Real Estate License Training Courses

There are quite a few state-certified real estate courses you can take online in Texas. While I’d love to cover them all (and maybe at some point I will), for the sake of my time and sanity, I’m only going to cover the 7 best online Texas real estate license training courses that I narrowed it down to. Are there other legit options available? Absolutely! I listed ALL of the online real estate courses approved in Texas below these reviews. These are just the 7 that I personally believe are best, with my highest recommended option listed first.

1. AceableAgent

AceableAgent Online Real Estate Schools

AceableAgent is without a doubt the best online real estate license course in Texas. Ironically enough, AceableAgent is also the newest online real estate training program to be approved in the state of Texas. You might think going with a more established course would be the best option, but this isn’t actually the case. You see, most of the online real estate courses that are already approved in Texas were created 10+ years ago, and while they’ve been patched and updated here and there over time, most courses are still very outdated. AceableAgent was just created last year, so it’s the most modern and updated course you can get in Texas.

AceableAgent is the highest-rated online real estate school in texas based on student pass rates. As of 2023, more than 72.25% of AceableAgent students pass their real estate license exam on the very first try. This is the highest pass rate in Texas, and significantly above the industry average.

What I really like about AceableAgent is the way the material is delivered. They have text, video, and even interactive features to help you retain information. They also have the best mobile apps for those who want to study on the go. If you sign up for their Career Kickstart plan, they even guarantee you’ll sell a house in 90 days. I don’t know of any other online real estate school in Texas that offers such a guarantee.

As a Texas resident, you might also like to know that AceableAgent is run by a company based right here in Austin, Texas. While Texas is a large state, it’s always good to help companies from within’ the Texas economy. As such, they also have a great customer service team based in their Austin office. This is one of the few courses that even offer tuition assistance if you need to spread your payments out.

The bottom line is, AceableAgent is the “new kid on the block” but they also happen to be the absolute best online real estate license course ever created. If a friend or family member asked me which Texas real estate course to sign up for, this would be it. You can learn more in my more detailed AceableAgent review.

2. Colibri Real Estate

Colibri Real Estate review featured image

Up until AceableAgent launched, Colibri Real Estate was my #1 pick. This is actually the course I signed up with to get my own real estate license. The biggest selling point about Colibri Real Estate is their average student exam pass rate. Their average student pass rate os of 2023 is over 50%. This might not seem like a high number, but compared to the industry standard, it’s actually well above most other course providers.

They are of course certified in the state of Texas, offer practice exams, live weekly training, and you are given a dedicated instructor who you can reach via email. Colibri Real Estate also has a student forum where questions can be asked. The student forum is monitored by instructors, so this is another way to get your questions answered. And finally, you can attend the weekly live Q&A sessions that instructors hold to ask questions and clarify anything you’re having issues with.

Yet another selling point is the ability to spread your payment plan out over 3 installments. The cost for any online real estate course in Texas will run you hundreds of dollars if not more. The ability to spread payments out over a few months is a great option that most other online real estate schools don’t offer.

As someone who has gone through the Colibri Real Estate course, I can attest that the course does feel a little bit outdated. There isn’t much in the way of videos, images, graphics, or anything else to really spice things up. Instead, it’s just page after page of text followed by 10 question quizzes that must be passed. However, this seems to be par for the industry and isn’t unique to Colibri Real Estate. A lot of people also prefer their course to be mostly text and they don’t want to have to sit through a bunch of videos. All in all, I’m quite pleased with the training offered through Colibri Real Estate. If you want to learn more about my experience with them, check out my more detailed review of Colibri Real Estate.

3. VanEd

VanEd Texas Real Estate

Sure, VanEd might not be as known as the likes of AceableAgent and Colibri Real Estate, but they do have a promising pass rate of 57.00%. Yes, that’s very high already.

Plus, the school is accredited by both TREC and ARELLO.

And these are the reasons why I included it in this list.

Now, in Texas, VanEd offers three packages to their students – Standard, Convenience, and Premium.

Each package comes with more inclusions (and also higher prices).

But don’t worry – the standard package will already suffice to fulfill your education requirements and help you pass the licensing exam.

It has the minimum 180 hours required by Texas, covering all foundation courses such as real estate principles, laws and contracts, and finance. Each lesson is also downloadable and printable, which will be so useful when reviewing for the exam.

Another selling point of VanEd is the inclusion of Exam Prep. Most schools require you to pay an additional fee or to purchase this as a separate package, so this is a good bonus to the program.

Lastly, their program is user-friendly and made for smartphones, tablets, and laptops. This means it will be easy to access your lessons wherever you are.

If there’s a downside, it’ll be the price of VanEd’s packages. It isn’t expensive per se, but it is higher than the other schools, with the lowest price at $495.

That said, you can chance upon a discount or use their 3-month installment plan. This way, it won’t be heavy on the wallet.

4. Kaplan Real Estate Education

Kaplan Real Estate Education Logo

Kaplan is a very well known and recognized online real estate license training program in Texas and it may be the most popular online course out there right now. With an average student pass rate of 56.96%, they are a bit below AceableAgent and Colibri Real Estate but it is pretty comparable. Once again, as compared to the rest of the industry, their student pass rate is better than most.

There are several packages offered at Kaplan depending on your needs and budget. For example, you can sign up for a basic package which pretty much only gives you the required course material, or you can upgrade and get extra features. They offer packages that include very realistic practice exams to help you pass your exam on the first try. Also, their live training goes a bit above and beyond what many other online real estate schools can do. With Kaplan, you can also get access to live study groups as well as live instructor training. These live training sessions do not count towards your 180 training hour requirement, but it is a great supplement for the material you are learning.

Even with the lowest package they offer, you will get access to a personal instructor. As of right now, the only way to contact that instructor is through email. Response times are generally pretty decent, but you may have to wait up to 24 hours for a response. The good news is their instructors are industry professionals including authors and top-selling real estate agents.

Course prices at Kaplan vary, but they tend to be a little more expensive than most other online real estate schools in Texas. All packages will fulfill the 180-hour training requirements, but the higher packages offer some additional perks and benefits that I recommend. Most students are able to get by with even their most basic training package, but the additional features that the higher tier packages offer are well worth the money in my opinion. The reason they are more expensive is mostly due to the instructors they employ, which are considered to be the best in the industry.

The number one complaint about Kaplan, just like many other online real estate courses in Texas, is that the course is outdated and needs to be updated. However, it should be noted that there are very few reviews of Kaplan’s real estate program online. They have been in business for decades with hundreds of thousands of students becoming real estate agents due to their program. It seems to be a case where the dissatisfied customers are much more vocal than the satisfied ones, and even then, there aren’t many trustworthy user reviews out there.

All in all, this is considered by many “in the industry” to be one of the best Texas online real estate license training courses available with some of the best instructors.

5: 360 Training

360Training Real Estate Course

360Training.com is another very popular option and is actually one of the most widely used online real estate schools in Texas. Unfortunately, even though they are very popular, they don’t have a very good student pass rate. According to TREC, the pass rate at 360Training.com is only 46.26% for their Texas real estate pre-licensing course as of 2023. That means, only 54% of their students pass the Texas real estate exam on their first try. This is lower than most of the other online real estate schools on this list. I found this course to be a bit glitchy as well, especially on mobile devices. Even their TrustPilot reviews, which are almost always overwhelmingly positive for every real estate license course, are pretty low compared to the other courses on this list. Reviews at TrustPilot are from actual students going through the course. They are asked to rate the school around 10% into the course, and for some reason, 360Training.com only has 3 stars whereas most schools have over 4 stars.

That doesn’t mean that 360Training.com is all bad, though. They didn’t get so popular by being a terrible course. The program is easy to navigate, is organized well, and they tend to repeat information that is the most important to know for your real estate license exam. This course also works very well on moble-devices. I also found that the student instructors were higher quality than some of the other Texas online real estate classes, so if you need a little extra support along the way, you’ll be in good hands.

The pricing at 360Training.com is on par with the industry average. You should expect to spend between $400 to $500 on your Texas pre-license course, depending on the package you sign up for. You can also sign up for courses a-la-carte. This will enable you to spread payments out over a period of time, but it will end up costing a bit more in the long run.

All in all, I would say that 360Training.com is a completely legitimate option with a very good content delivery system. However, their low student pass rate is a bit concerning. They certainly are worth your consideration, though. As I say over and over again, every student has a different learning style, so if 360Training.com resonates with you, it is a perfectly good choice.

6: The CE Shop

The CE Shop

The CE Shop boasts one of the highest student pass rates in the industry with a nearly 66.99% pass rate for Texas real estate pre-license students as of 2023. They offer several different packages that you can choose from. You can either get the basic package which pretty much only covers Texas state requirements, or you can go above and beyond by getting more detailed packages. Even the most basic package includes some extras such as unlimited practice exams and exam prep programs, but the advanced packages provide even more resources to ensure your success, including resources to help you get your career started after you’ve already passed the course.

One thing I really like about The CE Shop is the multiple ways they deliver the material. In my experience, the best online real estate license courses in Texas are courses that include content delivery beyond just plain text. So many courses are text-only, which can get very boring and tedious. The CE Shop provides not only text, but they break things up with videos and even some interactive features. I attribute their high pass rates to increased student retention due to the way their content is delivered.

Pricing at The CE Shop varies depending on the course and package you want to sign up for. While pricing fluctuates from time to time, the basic package is usually under $400, the middle package is under $500, while the most advanced package can run over $700 (although many say it’s worth it). The CE Shop is one of the few online real estate courses in Texas to offer tuition assistance. Instead of paying the entire fee upfront, you can split it into multiple payments.

Given the impressive student pass rates, high-quality customer service experienced real estate license instructors, and their content delivery methods, I believe The CE Shop is perhaps one of the best online real estate license schools in Texas right now. This course should be at the top of the list of courses you consider.

Allied Schools Online Real Estate License Fresno

Allied Real Estate Schools is one of the oldest online real estate license schools in Texas. Just like any other high quality online real estate license school, they offer live student support, give access to instructors, and fulfill all Texas real estate license training requirements. Personally, I found the course materials at Allied Real Estate Schools to be a bit boring and tedious. They don't have much in the way of videos, interactive features, or even images. For the most part, this is just a text-based course.

Another issue with Allied Real Estate Schools is their student pass rate. They are at the lower end of the spectrum and under the Texas real estate school passing rate average. As of 2023, less than 53% of students that take this course pass their Texas online real estate license exam on the first try. I think the lower pass rate is probably due to the limited content delivery methods as it is just plain text throughout the entire course.

One advantage of Allied Real Estate Schools is their price. This is one of the cheapest online real estate license schools in Texas. While prices will change sometimes, typically you can expect to spend less than $400 on the course, even with their highest packages. So while they may not have the highest student pass rate, this could be a good budget option, particularly if you're good at self-study.

And finally, Allied Real Estate Schools is the only online real estate license course in Texas that I know of to offer a 110% money-back guarantee. So, while Allied Real Estate Schools doesn't have the best student pass rate percentages, their decades of experience plus their guarantee make this a top choice to consider.
