Delaware Online Real Estate School FAQS

What are the CE requirements for first-time real estate license renewal in Delaware?

For sales agents that are renewing a license for the first time, the required number of CE hours that you need to complete will be prorated based on the number of months your license has been issued before the renewal date.

If it’s less than 6 months, no credit hours are needed. But:

  • For 6 months to 1 year, you’ll need 6 hours CE credit hours
  • For 1 year - 18 months, you’ll need 12 hours
  • For 18 months - 2 years, 18 hours
  • For more than 2 years, it’s 21 hours

Note that this schedule does not apply if you are a broker or an associate broker who wants to change from one license type to the other.

Also, keep in mind that if you are a new sales agent and you were not licensed in another jurisdiction previously, you still need to complete the four Newly Licensed Salesperson modules (3 hours each) within your first year of licensure. You can use these 12 credit hours earned to fulfill your continuing education requirement.

How many CE hours are required by the State of Delaware for subsequent renewals?

Agents are required to complete 21 hours of CE credits to renew a license. This must be completed by April 30 of each year and you must select 3 hours from each of the following modules:

  1. Agency and Fair Housing
  2. Professional Standards
  3. Real Estate Documents
  4. Office Management
