So you’ve completed the required pre-licensing course in Massachusetts.

Congratulations!

40 hours is no joke, so let’s make sure that your efforts weren’t in vain.

The next objective is to pass the Massachusetts Real Estate Exam.

To increase the likelihood of passing on your first try, we recommend an exam prep course.

There are more than enough providers in Massachusetts. Some are online real estate schools, while others focus solely on an online exam prep program.

Either way, you’ll boost your chances of passing with flying colors.

To help you get started, we’re going to list the 5 best real estate exam prep providers in Massachusetts. We’ll review what each provider can offer you.

Plus, we’ll add an FAQ section at the end.

So let’s get started!

What are the Best Real Estate Exam Prep Providers in Massachusetts?

In Massachusetts, the following providers offer an excellent exam prep program:

Let’s see what each one can offer.

The CE Shop

The CE Shop is one of the most well-established real estate education providers.

Aside from their pre-licensing and continuing education courses, they also offer a comprehensive exam prep course to help you ace your upcoming licensing exam.

Now, their exam prep course is a little bit different than what other schools offer.

Students will first need to take an initial assessment to test their knowledge. They will then receive real-time feedback on which topics they already mastered and which ones they need to improve on.

After the assessment, you will get access to all the state and national topics that you will most likely encounter in the actual exam.

The Exam Prep Edge includes unlimited practice exams to help students absorb information faster and more efficiently.

Topics are simplified and broken down into individual lessons for a more in-depth learning experience. In case you have any questions, you can get support via chat, email, or phone 7 days a week.

Once you already passed and mastered the practice exams, you will get notified that you are ready to take the licensing exam.

Just by looking at their impressive national pass rates, there’s no doubt that The CE Shop’s learning style is effective.

The CE Shop’s goal is to help you pass your first attempt on the real estate exam. That’s why they created an intuitive Exam Prep Edge course to help you become a successful real estate professional.

Colibri Real Estate

Another solid provider is Colibri Real Estate.

More than providing top-quality pre-licensing courses, you can also prepare for your licensing exam with them.

Their program has 2 main types of tools: flashcards and exams.

It may sound scant, but wait until you see how you can use these.

They designed digital flashcards to help you with your vocabulary. It’s no secret that real estate has its own language — and you must be able to keep up with all these terminologies.

Now, the pull of their exam prep course is the included exams. There are 3 types you can use:

  • Practice Exams are excellent for building your question bank. It contains 10, each having 45 questions.

  • Final Exams help you prepare for the licensing test by asking questions similar to those found in the actual exam. There are 2 national and 3 state-specific final exams in the exam prep program.

  • Custom Exams are ideal if you want to focus on specific subjects. So say you struggle with the math questions, well, you can customize the exam to be only on math to help you get better at it.

Unlike Mbition, Colibri Real Estate only has one exam prep package. It means you’ll automatically have all these tools at your disposal.

PrepAgent

Best Real Estate Exam Prep in Massachusetts PrepAgent

PrepAgent is the first provider on our list that isn’t an online real estate school. It focuses solely on one product — its exam prep course.

They offer tools that go above and beyond practice exams and flashcards (although they have these, too!). However, the number of features you’ll have access to depends on your plan.

You can choose between 3 options — the Basic, the Deluxe, and the Premium. The difference between these lies in the number of features you get and how long you can access them.

To give you a better understanding of what each package offers, check out the table below:

Tools Basic Deluxe Premium
Access 1 week 1 month 1 year
Question Bank (covers National and State-specific items) Yes Yes Yes
Money Back Guarantee Yes Yes Yes
Video and Audio Lessons   Yes Yes
Interactive Flashcards   Yes Yes
Exam Prep eBook   Yes Yes
Interactive Vocabulary Worksheet     Yes
Live and Recorded Webinars     Yes

The prices of each package vary. Logically, the Premium plan is the most expensive at $99. Before dismissing it, though, consider how much value it brings. You may decide that it’s worth the investment.

CompuCram

CompuCram

CompuCram is another provider that specializes in exam prep.

But unlike PrepAgent, it doesn’t focus solely on real estate. They help those in insurance, mortgage lending, and securities.

They use a simple equation: Study Vocabulary + Practice Testing + Exam Simulation = Everything You Need.

You’ll begin the entire process with a self-assessment which will determine your baseline. This way, it’s easier to measure your progress as you use their program.

What sets CompuCram apart is how they approach vocabulary lessons. While most providers use digital flashcards, you’ll encounter 2 other methods here. They use matching and fill-in-the-blanks to help you review various terminologies.

Of course, you also have practice tests available. CompuCram arranged these by category, so you can focus on strengthening your knowledge about a specific subject.

Once you feel you’re ready to take the exam, go for a simulation one last time!

Exam Scholar

Exam Scholar

Last on our list is Exam Scholar.

Here, you can get a mountain of resources to help you review for your real estate exam.

Your dashboard leads you to the resource channels. You can use Practice Exams, the Media Center (videos, audio clips, articles), or Flashcards.

All of these can benefit your review process.

Practice Exams range from quizzes, math exams, and mock exams. The different types of tests allow you to build your question bank as you go through them.

You have a chance to review your answers before submitting it. You then get explanations for each item, along with your score.

Resources in the media center also allow you to go through more questions. Plus, it will help you gain a better understanding through visuals, audio, and text.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I have to do to take the Massachusetts Real Estate Exam?

Once you’ve completed the required pre-licensing course and passed its final exam, you can begin preparing for your real estate exam.

In Massachusetts, the PSI administers the real estate exam. You’ll need to schedule an exam with them. You can do this through their website, phone, fax, or email.

However, you need to get 3 candidate endorsements from non-familial individuals before that. Don’t worry if they’re from other states — the Massachusetts Board of Registration will accept that.

How many questions are in the Massachusetts Real Estate Exam?

In total, there are 120 questions in the Massachusetts Real Estate Exam.

The National portion of the real estate exam has 80 questions, and you have 150 minutes to complete it. In comparison, you have 90 minutes to go through the 40 state-specific questions.

Is exam prep worth it?

We know an exam prep course will be another expense, but it is worth the investment. Not only does it help you review the concepts you’ve covered in your pre-licensing course, but it also helps you with other aspects of the exam.

For example, you may know the content well but frequently run out of time when going through the questions. Taking an exam prep course can help you manage your time better.

What is test anxiety? And what can you do to cope?

Having jitters about your exam is normal. However, if you have anxiety, your level of worry reaches a different category.

It gets in the way of your test-taking abilities, resulting in poorer performance. It has nothing to do with how well you know the subject most of the time.

One way to deal with this anxiety is to study early. Cramming doesn’t do you any good and will only increase your stress levels.

Another technique is to acclimate yourself to the experience of test-taking by going through a simulation. It covers not only the content but even how you take the test.

An exam prep course makes both of these possible. Although it won’t eliminate every ounce of worry, it makes it more manageable for you.

Final Words

The decision of whether to take an exam prep course or not falls upon your shoulders.

Most online real estate schools offer packages that include it. If yours is like this, we suggest you take advantage of it.

If not, and you want the additional resources to increase your chances of passing on the first try, you can purchase an exam prep course separately.

Any provider on our list is a solid choice. It’s a matter of figuring out which one matches your preferences.

You can’t go wrong with an exam prep course. After all, you can never be too prepared for your real estate license exam.

Good luck!
