Following up on leads is one of the most crucial aspects of working in real estate.
But you should know that it’s also the most inconvenient task, especially if you don’t use a CRM.
Speaking of CRMs, Follow Up Boss is a highly-rated CRM that boasts its lead follow-up system, mobile app, and lead funneling feature.
But is it as good as the 4.5 stars we see on review sites?
Let’s find out in our Follow Up Boss Review for real estate. Here, we’ll look at its features, pricing, as well as pros and cons.
About Follow Up Boss
Follow Up Boss was founded by Dan Corkill and Tom Markow, the company’s current CEO and CTO, respectively. They built this CRM in April 2011.
This CRM has gone through several updates, each one adding a more robust feature.
Some of its popular features are its Action Plans, mobile app, and automated emails and text messages.
It covers the basic CRM requirements with a lot of additional automated features that you can take advantage of whether you are a solo agent or an agency.
Aside from an extensive list of capabilities, Follow Up Boss has been known to service a number of clients over the past decade.
They have served at least 50,000 real estate agents across the country and have 200+ lead providers.
So all in all, Follow Up Boss is more than just your usual CRM software.
Follow Up Boss Features
Let’s take a look at some of the best features of this CRM:
Action Plans
Action Plans are simply automated tasks being carried out based on criteria that a lead satisfies.
For example, you want to create a 2-week follow-up plan for leads that are just browsing certain properties. To set those automated messages, you just have to create an action plan on the frequency of the emails, the body of the message, etc…
This way, following up no longer becomes your or your team’s burden.
Calling & Dialler
Follow Up Boss allows you to call your leads straight from the desktop and mobile apps for those with the Pro and Platform plans.
This is a two-way calling feature that lets your leads contact you or vice versa.
What’s great about this is that you can route them to a specific person on your team, record the calls, and track the journey of your contacts all in one software.
Extensive Integrations
Every CRM has a set of integrations. But Follow Up Boss has an extensive list of integrations that you can use.
Aside from Google Suite and Office 365, there’s also Zapier that connects you to even more software applications.
This allows you to integrate everything into the app. And if you have several lead-generating sites, you can funnel them all to Follow Up Boss.
Follow Up Boss Pricing
Follow Up Boss has three plans – Grow, Pro, and Platform.
The Grow plan starts at $69 per user per month. This plan is ideal for solo real estate agents.
Take note, though, that the phone dialer is available as an add-on ($39 per user) in this plan.
The next is the Pro plan which is good for up to 10 users. It starts at $499 and it already has the phone dialer and team leaderboard included.
The highest plan is Platform which allows up to 30 users. It’s priced at $1000 a month. Platform has all the features of both Grow and Pro plans with a higher support priority.
It also allows for managing teams within teams. Needless to say, this is only ideal for large real estate agencies.
All plans, when paid annually, can get 2 months subscription off their bill.
Follow Up Boss Pros
- Action Plans carry out your tasks based on the type of lead
- Has a clean, simple, and intuitive interface
- A user-friendly mobile app that has all the features
It’s no surprise that Follow Up Boss has a lot of advantages over your usual CRM software.
For one thing, its Action Plans feature makes it a lot easier for any solo agent to send out a lot of emails over a period of time without doing all of them manually.
All you have to do is set the criteria and messages once.
This feature alone makes Follow Up Boss an ideal choice for people who want to focus on nurturing every lead by having a more customized approach.
Another reason why people love this CRM is because of its ease of use.
You might be thinking that a complex CRM like this will be complicated to use. It’s not.
The dashboard is clean and everything you need is just a few clicks away.
And finally, there’s the mobile app.
Most of the time, CRMs won’t have a mobile app that’s as user-friendly and advanced as their desktop versions. But Follow Up Boss isn’t like the others.
There are iOS and Android versions that are both updated along with desktop updates. You can also send out calls, messages, emails, and tasks right in your palm.
Follow Up Boss Cons
- There’s a lack of educational and navigational videos
- Enterprise plan is too expensive
- Mobile app and desktop versions can have bugs now and then
Unfortunately, there are still a few things we want Follow Up Boss to work on.
One of them is the educational content.
If you’ve never used a CRM before, you’ll find that Follow Up Boss lacks beginner-friendly tutorials that will let you go through every feature and setup needed to get your account running.
They may have tutorial videos on their YouTube account, but these only cover the very basics.
Another disadvantage is the pricey enterprise plan. Its Platform Plan that’s good for up to 30 users is too expensive, especially if you’re paying monthly.
If you want to save a few bucks, you can commit to an annual plan to get 2 months off!
And then there are glitches every now and then. We know that this is normal for any software, but it can be a hassle when the system shuts down when you’re in the middle of a call or an action plan set up.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Follow Up Boss is an AWESOME CRM option for both solo agents and agencies.
Its prices are reasonable (save for the enterprise plan) and its features make the cost a good value for money.
If you think that you can let its imperfections pass, then you might find that Follow Up Boss could be a great help for you and your team.
The choice is up to you.
We hope that this article has helped you make the right decision!
