Are you hoping to get your real estate license in Oklahoma?

If so, you might be confused with all the requirements.

Wait, there are requirements?

When should I take the Oklahoma real estate exam?

What classes do I need to attend?

With our complete guide on how to get a real estate license online in Oklahoma, we will help answer all these questions and more.

So let’s begin!

Note: in Oklahoma, your first real estate license should be a provisional sales associates (PSA) license.

Real Estate License Qualifications in Oklahoma

You might think there are a lot of qualifications to obtain a real estate license in Oklahoma. However, that’s not true.

All the qualifications you need are:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Be a US citizen or legal alien

  • Deemed a person of good moral character by OREC

That’s it!

If you fit those qualifications, then you are eligible to get an Oklahoma real estate license.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Getting a Real Estate License Online in Oklahoma

Here are the steps to obtain a real estate license in Oklahoma:

  • Complete the mandatory real estate pre-licensing education

  • Pass the course final exam

  • Submit your real estate license application

  • Pass the Oklahoma real estate exam

  • Find a sponsoring broker

Let’s discuss each step in detail.

Step 1: Complete the Mandatory Real Estate Pre-Licensing Education

In Oklahoma, you need to study 90 hours of real estate pre-licensing education from an OREC approved provider.

The 90-hour pre-licensing course should be completed within three years to be valid for the PSA license application.

Looking for an OREC approved real estate school?

We highly recommend Colibri Real Estate!

With this online school, you can choose from four (4) fully accredited pre-licensing course packages. All packages give you the required 90-hours of pre-licensing education, along with additional perks. See below:

Also, since it is an online course, you can take it at your own pace, from the comfort of your home!

For a complete list of OREC-approved pre-licensing courses, check out the OREC webpage.

Step 2: Pass the Course Final Exam

To get your Certificate of Completion, you will need to pass the course final exam.

Note: the certificate of completion is proof that you studied all 90 hours of your required real estate pre-licensing education.

Step 3: Submit Your Real Estate License Application

To apply for a PSA license online, complete the application through the OREC Application Portal. (You need to sign up first if you don’t have an account.)

As expected, you will need to submit supporting documents, including Proof of Citizenship and your Certificate of Completion.

You will also need to complete a background check through the IdentoGo Portal.

Once all application requirements are complete, OREC will review your application for 5 business days. Always check your email for updates on any missing documents.

If your application is accepted, you can then take the Oklahoma real estate exam.

Step 4: Pass the Oklahoma Real Estate Exam

For the Oklahoma real estate exam, you need to take it at a PSI testing center near you. (Make sure to set a schedule with them first.)

Also, don’t forget to bring proof of application acceptance, proof of identity, $60 for the exam fee, and a non-programmable calculator.

As for the exam itself, you need to answer 130 questions and get a passing score of 70%.

What if you fail the exam?

You can always retake it. However, you will need to pay the exam fee again.

Note: PSA applications are only valid for a year. If you have not received a passing score within one year, you will need to send a new application form and background check.

If you’ve passed your exam –– congratulations!

You should expect to get a passing confirmation email from OREC within 48 hours.

Step 5: Find a Sponsoring Broker

A provisional sales associate must work under a sponsoring broker.

Take your time to find one that suits your needs and preferences. Always pick one that is reputable, reliable, and offers great advancement in your real estate career.

Though this is the last step, never take it lightly or be in a hurry. Remember, you’re going to work under this broker.

Once you find the perfect sponsoring broker for you, you can issue for your real estate license by following the instructions here.
