Step 2: Pass the Vermont real estate exam

Once you receive your certificate of completion, the next step is to pass the Vermont real estate exam conducted by the PSI.

Simply go to the PSI’s online.goamp website, select real estate, then Vermont Real Estate Examination Program, then Salesperson National Examination. It will take you to another page, where you select “Register for this Exam”.  

If you already have an account with the PSI, you can proceed to fill out the exam registration form. If not, then you’ll have to create an account first. 

You should make your exam fee payment of $110 on the site as well. 

On exam day, don’t forget to bring 2 appropriate and valid forms of identification, such as a driver’s license. You might also want to arrive at least 30 minutes early and bring a non-digital calculator to help you with some of the math questions. 

What can you expect from the Vermont real estate exam?

Well, it consists of 2 sections - a national and state portion. 

You’re given 2.5 hours to complete the 100 MCQ national questions. 

As for the state portion, you take it as part of the real estate license application.

While not technically a requirement for your license, you have to complete an 8-hour post-licensing course within 90 days after you receive your license. Failure to complete such within the allotted time can result in license suspension.
