Back when I was first considering getting my real estate license in Texas, I was already working a full-time job. At first, I thought I’d have to figure out a way to attend a physical real estate license class on nights or weekends. Even then, having to attend a physical classroom after work or on the weekends likely would have been enough to turn me off to the whole idea.
That’s when I found out there are plenty of real estate license courses in Texas to choose from. Online real estate license courses in Texas have been around for over 20 years and have actually become a very normal way for real estate professionals in Texas to obtain their initial salesperson licensing, as well as completing their continuing education requirements in Texas for all real estate license holders.
What Is The Best Real Estate License Course In Texas?
If you just want the fast answer, this is by far the best online real estate course you can take in Texas. With that said, there are plenty of online real estate license courses in Texas and while they all meet Texas state licensing requirements, each course is a little bit different.
What I’ve done is chosen the 5 BEST online real estate license courses in Texas to review so you have a good idea of how they differ. I’ve also provided a full list of every online real estate license course in Texas, as well as every college & university operated real estate license course in Texas.
TOP PICK: AceableAgent
Let me be blunt about this. AceableAgent isn’t just the best online real estate license course in Texas, it’s a total game changer. AceableAgent is actually the newest online real estate license course in Texas to be state approved. Under most circumstances, I would recommend one of the courses that have been around for 25+ years. So why do I recommend AceableAgent so highly?
The unfortunate truth is most of these online real estate license courses in Texas were developed literally decades ago, and they have hardly undergone any updates since then. You’ll notice that the vast majority of complaints about most of these online real estate license programs are about how outdated the material is. Not with AceableAgent though! This is the freshest course around and all the content is updated.
And finally, AceableAgent is the best online real estate license course in Texas (in my opinion) because of the way the material is delivered. Most online real estate classes are just walls of text and PDF files. However, AceableAgent delivers the content in multiple formats. It is also one of the few online real estate license courses in Texas that works well on mobile devices. Most other real estate courses in Texas are so outdated, using the course on your mobile device ends up being more of a hassle than anything else.
In sort, AceableAgent is my top recommendation by a LONG SHOT if you want to get your real estate license in Texas online. It’s not even close. While I’ve listed 4 additional high-quality courses, honestly, AceableAgent is in a league of its own.
Real Estate Express
Real Estate Express is the course I used to obtain my real estate license, so I can pretty safely recommend them. Real Estate Express is more of a text-based course when compared to AceableAgent which delivers the content in several formats including video, text, graphics, animations, interactive games, etc. However, some people might find this to be an advantage of Real Estate Express. Not everyone really cares about videos and animations, they just want a textbook and a highlighter, or as close as you can get to that online. If that sounds like you, Real Estate Express is a good option to consider.
In addition to the text-based coursework, Real Estate Express also issues you a dedicated instructor. This instructor is available via email only, but response times are typically 24hrs or less. You also have access to student forum areas where students can help each other out. And finally, there is a weekly live Q&A session where you can ask questions from a knowledgeable instructor and get questions answered live instead of through email.
While I find Real Estate Express to be a little outdated and clunky on mobile devices, this is one of the better options out there. I felt more than prepared when I went in to take my real estate license exam and definitely recommend this as one of the best real estate license courses in Texas.

Brightwood Real Estate Education By Kaplan
Brightwood Real Estate Education is operated by Kaplan, and they are one of the most well known real estate license courses in Texas that you can take online. What really sets Brightwood apart is their average student pass rate. Unfortunately, student pass rates are no longer publically available, but in prior years Brightwood was among the leaders in students passing the course and successfully obtaining their real estate license.
Another great perk of Brightwood Real Estate Education is you get better access to your dedicated instructor than most other online real estate courses. With most online real estate courses, you have to contact your instructor via email and it can take 24hrs (longer on the weekends) to get a response. This can get really frustrating if you have to go back and forth with your instructor because a simple conversation can take days. You won’t have that issue at Brightwood since you can actually pick up the phone and call your instructor.
Brightwood is one of the more expensive real estate courses in Texas, so make sure you do some price shopping before signing up, but Brightwood receives the highest reviews online compared to any other real estate license course on this list. Whether it’s Yelp, Facebook, or Google reviews, Brightwood consistantly ranks at the top, so it appears you really do get what you pay for. With their high reviews and student pass rates, plus the backing by two reputable educational institutions, you’ll be in good hands at Brightwood.

Mbition
Mbition is one of the most popular online real estate training programs in the country. They’ve been around for a couple of decades and they have a unique teaching style which they call the Mastery Methodology. The way this works is by delivering the content to you in very easy-to-manage chunks that typically take 15 to 30 minutes to get through. After each section, you’ll get tested to see how well you’re retaining the information. This sure as heck beats the walls of text that many other Texas real estate courses seem to rely on.
There are a few other unique features that Mbition includes in their program. You’ll get an exam prep program that gives you practice tests very similar to what you’ll have when you take your actual real estate license exam in Texas. If you have trouble with the mathematics you’re required to learn (me!), Mbition gives you access to practice problems and situations where you can practice using the formulas. As with the other real estate courses on this list, you get access to an instructor via email and a virtual classroom where you can interact with other students. And finally, Mbition guarantees that you will pass your licensing exam.
The final feature that sets Mbition apart from the rest is their relatively low price compared to many other real estate license courses in Texas. They have several different packages to choose from, or you can even choose courses a-la-carte. This is especially helpful if you are on a budget and can’t afford to sign up for the entire course right away. With the a-la-carte option, you can simply pay for modules as you go instead of spending all the money upfront.
Allied Schools
Allied Schools is another real estate license school in Texas that has been around seemingly forever. As of this article, they’ve been in business for over 25 years. This was one of the very first real estate license courses in Texas to be approved for online study. This is also the only real estate course in Texas that I know of that offers a 110% guarantee. They guarantee, 110%, that you will pass your real estate license exam. That’s a pretty bold guarantee.
If you look at their website, it’s pretty obvious to see that they are a little outdated. Their course was created quite a while ago, but they have updated the information as needed. However, this is another very simple and straightforward course to use. Allied Schools does not have a bunch of fancy videos, graphics, and animations. It’s a very ‘to the point’ style of learning without a lot of fluff, which is exactly what a lot of people are searching for. This course is also created to help you get through the material as quickly as possible. In fact, they call their course the “fast track program” and it’s specifically designed to be quick.
All of the other necessities that you’d expect from a top quality real estate license school are included like live support, access to an instructor, student forums, and practice tests. Allied Schools is another great option for those on a budget as well. Since they don’t have a bunch of flashy videos and professional animations or any of those other “advanced” features, they are able to pass some savings along.
