You’re probably wondering what happened to MBition.
Well… In short, MBition was purchased by The CE Shop, another big online real estate school.
And while we don’t know the full details yet, I thought I’d take the time to share with everyone what we do know!
So let’s get into it.
Is MBition Closing?
Yes. On January 10, 2022, The CE Shop acquired MBition along with two other real estate schools. And by the end of 2022, MBition will be closed.
MBition (aka MBitiontoLearn or Career Web School) was founded in 2001, and is one of the older online real estate schools around.
For over two decades, they’ve been consistently one of the top schools in providing real estate pre-licensing courses, continuing education, and exam prep.
However, in recent years, MBition has seemingly been falling behind other great online course providers like Aceable Agent, Colibri Real Estate, and, of course, The CE Shop.
We don’t have too many details about the deal with The CE Shop.
But what we do know is that by the end of the year (2022), the MBition school and website are going to close down.
Right now, anyone that tries to sign up for MBition’s courses will be redirected to The CE Shop’s website instead.
How Will MBition Closing Affect MBition Students?
According to The CE Shop, students of MBition don’t need to worry about anything since the switch shouldn’t affect them in any way.
The CE Shop even released an FAQ post where they assure everyone that their courses and credits won’t disappear with the change.
Is The CE Shop The Best Alternative to MBition?
So now that MBition is gone, the question becomes:
Should you sign up for The CE Shop?
Or should you take a look at your other alternatives instead?

But let’s give you a quick summary of what you can expect from the school.
The CE Shop Pros
Here are some of the things that make The CE Shop one of the most popular online real estate schools:

- Available in almost every state
- High exam pass rates
One of the reasons MBition was falling behind other schools was because their user experience was quite outdated.
But with The CE Shop, you can be sure you’ll be getting one of the most modern and interactive courses around.
Modern in the sense that you won’t feel like you’re reading a traditional textbook while studying. The CE Shop tries to make their lessons interesting by using short paragraphs and even adding stories and dialogue.
Plus, they have interactive quizzes and tests after each unit that’ll really help you retain the information.
Another reason The CE Shop is so popular is that they’re available in almost every single state.
The CE Shop’s prelicensing courses are approved in 43 states.
So unless you’re living in Alaska, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, South Dakota, or Wyoming, you can sign up for their course.
Last but certainly not least, The CE Shop has great state-exam pass rates.
In Texas, which has one of the most notorious state exams, The CE Shop has one of the highest passing rates at 67.95%.
In other states, this rate gets much, much higher.
The CE Shop Cons
There is no perfect online real estate school.
There’s no doubt that The CE Shop is one of your best options, but there are a few things that they are lacking.
For one, they don’t have a dedicated mobile app.
It’s not a big problem, since you can use your mobile browser to access the course.
But unlike AceableAgent’s dedicated app, the UX isn’t ideal.
This might be nit-picking at this point, but you can also say that The CE Shop is lacking direct access to course instructors.
They also don’t have live-stream packages.
When you sign up for The CE Shop, you are signing up for a course that is almost 100% self-study.
Again, not a super big deal since most courses are like this. But some students prefer to have easy contact with their teachers.
Other Alternatives to MBition
Just because MBition is now under The CE Shop doesn’t mean you have to transfer to them too.
Nowadays, aspiring real estate agents are spoilt for choice, because there are a LOT of options that you can choose from.
Here’s a rundown of some of your options.
MBition Alternative #1: Aceable Agent
The most modern course available today is Aceable Agent.
They have a highly-interactive course that ensures you’ll never get bored while studying. There are lots of visuals, and even videos when you study Aceable Agent.
Because of this, they have a LOT of success in the real estate exams.
In Texas, they have a whopping 75.15% pass rate.
Plus, they also have a dedicated mobile app for studying on the go.
The only real problem with AceableAgent is that it’s only available in 14 states, namely Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, Philadelphia, Texas, Colorado, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington (and their California course is just a pdf).
Nonetheless, they are super new to the game, and they are already a strong competitor for the best course out there!

MBition Alternative #2: Colibri Real Estate
Another great alternative to MBition is Colibri Real Estate.
In terms of how good their course is, it’s very comparable to that of The CE Shop.
Plus, they are also available in 42 states, making them one of the most widely available courses.
Of these 42 states, it’s nice to note that Colibri Real Estate is available in Alaska, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, and Wyoming - six states that The CE Shop is missing.
Because the two courses are quite similar in price and quality this might be the deciding factor for you. Only South Dakota is unavailable for both schools.

MBition Alternative #3: Kaplan
If reputation is important for you, you might consider signing up for Kaplan.
Now just a warning, Kaplan isn’t quite as modern as The CE Shop, Aceable Agent, or Colibri Real Estate.
However, they are one of the longest-standing online education providers, and you can be sure that they KNOW what they are doing.
All in all, I recommend choosing a school from the big three.
But if none of them suit you, it’s good to know that there are other reputable providers like Kaplan!
