Interested in becoming an appraiser in South Dakota?

Then you’ve come to the right place!

We know it can be hard finding appraisal qualifying education courses in South Dakota, let alone the ones that are approved and high-quality.

Well, we’re here to help.

Here, we’re going to review the best real estate appraisal courses in South Dakota. You can be sure that all these schools are legit, approved, online, and of the best quality.

So shall we?

What are the Best Real Estate Appraisal Courses in South Dakota?

These are the best online real estate appraisal courses in South Dakota:

Let’s get reviewing!

McKissock

Best Real Estate Appraisal Courses in South Dakota McKissock

When it comes to appraisal courses, McKissock is your top choice.

With over 3 decades of teaching real estate professionals the ins and outs of the industry, they are one of the best online course providers in the entire United States.

When you work with McKissock, you get to choose between online and Livestream classes — a great option to have, as not everyone can manage online learning on their own.

They also offer individual courses and packages to accommodate all types of budgets.

For the best value, we suggest you grab one of their online packages. You not only get the mandatory qualifying education courses, but you also get a lot of resources to help you succeed in your new career as well.

If you have any concerns, you may raise them during live consultation sessions with an instructor. You may also contact the McKissock customer support line for assistance.

VanEd

Best Real Estate Appraisal Courses in South Dakota VanEd

VanEd is another popular online real estate school.

They offer a lot of approved courses, and yes, that includes appraisal QE in South Dakota.

If you go with VanEd, we suggest that you get their complete bundle. This includes the mandatory 75 hours of qualifying education.

It might not have as many resources as the other providers here, but it does have a great payment plan.

You can choose to pay the full payment straight away, or you can pay it in installments. This is great for those who don’t have the budget just yet.

What’s more, you can even get a 5-day FREE TRIAL. So you can see if this is really the school for you.

The best part is, after you complete the courses, VanEd will help you satisfy the remaining requirements, such as the final exam proctor.

So yes, it isn’t the most resourceful, but it will take the extra steps to help you get your South Dakota appraiser license.

Dynasty School

Last but not least, we have Dynasty School.

Dynasty School is actually in partnership with McKissock. So you could be led to McKissock’s platform.

So why choose Dynasty School instead of McKissock?

With Dynasty School, you have the choice to pay monthly.

You just need to pay $100 each month until you pay off the $950 subscription. So it won’t be so hard on your pockets.

Plus, this will give you 1-year access to the courses.

As for their individual courses, you can get a discount if you’re applying with a friend (or even a stranger). Discounts can go as high as 15%.

If physical textbooks help you understand topics better, you can request a FREE hard copy of the “APPRAISAL PRINCIPLES AND PROCEDURES” book. However, take note that you’ll have to pay the shipping fee, which normally costs around $16, depending on your location.

If you’re on a budget, then Dynasty School might be your best choice!

FAQs

Is becoming a real estate appraiser really for me?

That’s a good question — and one that you can’t really find an answer to externally.

While real estate appraisal can certainly be a lucrative career choice, the profession is not for everyone. Before making a final decision, make sure to assess all your options to avoid regretting your choices in the long run.

How long does it take to become an appraiser in South Dakota?

That depends on the type of license you’re trying to get.

Trainees are required to complete 75 creditable hours of qualifying education (QE) within a 5-year period. Once completed, they can move on to the next step in the process, which is getting their license.

To become a licensed real estate appraiser, applicants are required to get 30 semester hours of college-level education, 150 creditable class hours of QE, and 1,000 hours of acceptable appraisal experience in not less than 6 months.

If you’re aiming for a certified residential license, the requirements are 200 QE hours, a bachelor’s degree in any field, 30 college semester credit hours in business, economics, or real estate, and 1,500 hours of acceptable appraiser experience in no fewer than 12 months.

Finally, if your goal is to become a certified general appraiser, the requirements you need are as follows: 300 QE hours, a bachelor’s degree or higher, and 3,000 hours of acceptable appraisal experience in no less than 18 months.

Is it better to get training online than in person?

The case might be different from person to person. There are people who do better when they’re working at their own time and pace. Still, there are others that prefer live interaction.

That said, online learning gives you full control over your schedule. You can take your lessons anytime and anyplace, as long as you have an internet connection. This is one of the major advantages of online training.

In-person classes, on the other hand, give you access to immediate feedback from professional mentors. Furthermore, it lets you interact with prospective business partners and customers.

Conclusion

So there you have it!

Sure, it isn’t the longest list. However, the 3 schools that we mentioned here are already the best of the best in South Dakota.

Whichever you pick, know that you’ll be in great hands. Plus, as we said earlier, these schools are legit, 100% online, of the best quality, and approved to satisfy state requirements.

So what are you waiting for?

Pick a school today and get started!
