Real estate can be a lucrative field, and as such, it can be a very competitive industry to join. There are lots of reasons for folks deciding to secure their places in the trade. For one, when the economy and housing market are in good standing, there is plenty of money to be made. Additionally, many agents like the job as they set their own schedules. Although there are flexible hours, it is crucial to remember that you will likely have to work evenings and weekends. After all, these are the times when most potential clients will be available.

Another great aspect of a career in real estate are the numerous additional ways you can make money such as flipping homes, accumulating rental properties, and having first dibs on foreclosed homes at auctions.

Obtaining A Real Estate License In Texas

All states require that real estate agents be licensed, so it should come as no surprise that Texas also requires you to get a license. Obtaining a real estate license in Texas ensures that future salespeople have the education and skills necessary to fulfill their roles correctly & legally.

The process of getting a real estate license in Texas is not easy but is usually considered well worth the effort. It involves a number of steps that can be completed over the course of a just a few weeks, but if you attend an online real estate school in Texas, you can go at your own pace. Many people get into real estate as a second career, so the amount of time it takes to actually obtain a license varies quite a bit. It is up to you to decide how much time you are willing to commit on a daily basis, which will determine how fast or slow you get things done and over with.

The required hours that you must complete to receive your real estate license in Texas is 180. That is a big number and can easily seem daunting, but with the right mindset, and help from an online real estate school, you will be able to knock out those hours whenever it’s convenient for you.

Are Online Real Estate License Schools In Texas Better Than Classroom Courses?

Everyone has their own learning style, and for some, having a physical instructor in an actual classroom is best. These days, however, the most popular way to get a real estate license in Texas is to take an online real estate license course. Most of us getting into real estate are doing it as a second career, so the flexibility of going through an online school is really a lifesaver.

If you’ve never taken an online course before, it’s nothing to be afraid of. There are loads of benefits to doing so. The biggest being that schooling has evolved with technology, so as a result, you will receive the same quality education that you can get in a traditional classroom setting. Another aspect to consider is the other people that have utilized these services to get their real estate license in Texas. Most online real estate license schools in Texas have had hundreds of thousands if not millions of students graduate from their courses. Some of these schools have been around for well over a decade now, so they must be doing something right.

Several benefits come to mind when it comes to using an online real estate license school. Firstly, nobody wants to break the bank acquiring a real estate license. Often times, taking courses online is a lot cheaper than doing things the traditional way in a classroom. Most online real estate schools in Texas also have some great features that help you retain the information you need to know in order to pass your Texas real estate license exam. For example, I have a lot of problems with the math sections, but these courses have special features that help you learn the math sections more easily. They also typically have unlimited and realistic practice exams, instructors you can reach via phone, email, or chat, and virtual classrooms where students can help each other out. Online education has really come a long way.

The 3 Best Online Real Estate License Courses In Texas

There are several online real estate license courses in Texas to choose from, but listed below are what I believe are the top 3 best online real estate license schools you can take, along with a review of why I think they are the best. It really doesn’t matter which of the below courses you choose. My advice is to check each of them out and go with whoever you think looks best. You really can’t go wrong with any of these courses.

Top Pick: AceableAgent

AceableAgent Real Estate License Training

AceableAgent is one of the newest online real estate license schools in Texas. Most people tend to go with the more experienced schools, but I’ve chosen AceableAgent as my top pick for several reasons.

For starters, many online real estate schools in Texas have become very outdated. While they may claim to be “mobile-friendly”, most online real estate schools really don’t work well on mobile devices. AceableAgent, however, is the only online real estate license school in Texas that has dedicated downloadable apps for both Android and Apple devices. If you plan on using your smartphone or tablet to go through the training material, AceableAgent is absolutely the best pick.

AceableAgent also has what I believe is the best presentation of the training material. While many other online real estate schools in Texas consist of hundreds of pages of plain text, AceableAgent delivers its material in multiple formats. You’ll learn through text, videos, graphics, animations, and even interactive games. I really like how well the course is put together.

It is also notable to mention that instructor support is available 7-days a week. Thus, if a question or concern over the content arises, it can be answered promptly via email. Another reason to pick AceableAgent to help you get your real estate license in Texas is the Ace the Test Guarantee. If you fail to pass the examination within three attempts, AceableAgent will give you your money back. You can learn more about AceableAgent in my full AceableAgent review here.

Runner Up: Colibri Real Estate

Colibri Real Estate review featured image

Colibri Real Estate offers students a variety of courses to help them become successful salespersons. You can either sign up for one of their packaged programs, or you can take each required course individually and pay as you go. This really helps for those who don’t have all the money upfront to pay for an entire course. It’s a good way to spread the payments out.

Colibri Real Estate is one of the oldest and most well-established online real estate license courses in Texas. In fact, this is the program I personally used to study for my real estate license. This is almost entirely a text-based course, but they also have virtual classrooms, live Q&A sessions, and access to a personal instructor to help as you go. I ended up going with the highest package which includes physical textbooks that go along with the online coursework. I’m pretty old school and like to take notes or highlight in physical books, so this is something you also may want to consider.

The exam test prep and practice questions really help get you prepared for the actual exam. If you want to learn about my own personal experience going through Colibri Real Estate, check out my more detailed Colibri Real Estate review.

Third Pick: The CE Shop

The CE Shop is one of the most user-friendly real estate online schools. Why do we say this?

For starters, their learning interface, also known as LEAP 2.0, is a one-stop platform where students can find everything. From the program syllabus to their personal dashboards, to all the learning content, and to their access to customer service and instructors.

Whatever gadget you use, its interface also adjusts automatically to the screen size. So whether you’re logging in from your laptop, your phone, or your tablet, you can easily use LEAP 2.0.

The CE Shop also makes it a point that its content is not visually unexciting and monotonous. You won’t find a single chapter that’s pure text. Each chapter has a mix of text, images, and even interactive videos. Plus, there are a lot of real-life simulations for a better grasp of what happens in the real world.

And lastly, there are a lot of exam prep materials available for the students. After every chapter, students are required to take a short quiz to gauge their learning. At the end of the program, they will also take a final exam and their goal is to score at least 70%. You will only receive your program certification if you pass the test.

If you think you need more materials, then you can also get their more premium packages. You will get unlimited practice tests, review summaries, and Exam Prep EDGE.
